Installing your Accord dash trim kit
Now you are the proud owner of a great looking product. But how do you install it so it looks like a profession job. One that appears as if it came standard with your car.
The following guidelines will outline the major steps of installing your kit. If there is a difference between these instructions and the instruction sheet that came with your's, follow your kit's instructions.
Before you remove any liners from your dash trim kit and expose the adhesive, place each piece where it should be installed to insure it fits.
• Use a soft pencil to outline your placement, so it will be easier to line up the trim piece.
Clean all of the surfaces where the dash trim kit will be installed with isopropyl alcohol. It is very important to go over these areas a couple of times. They may have been covered with some type of detailing chemicals in the past, which will not allow your dash trim kit to hold securely.
If your dash trim kit has an adhesive promoter, brush it on only in the exact areas where each dash trim piece will be applied.
In some kits there is no promoter, and the original backing is sufficient to hold the piece.
Peel off the backing from one of the dash trim kit pieces.
Gently position the piece. Hint: Use a finger to tack a couple of different spots on the dash trim, while you make final adjustments. Once the dash trim piece looks good, use your fingers to press the entire piece into position.
Follow the above steps with all of the remaining dash trim kit pieces.
After all of the pieces have been placed of your dash trim kit, it's a good idea to go back over each piece and repress on all of the surfaces. Pay special attention to the corners and any pieces of your dash trim kit which bend .
Use a soft lint free cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges on the dash trim kit.
Congratulations on your fantastic looking car with your new dash trim kit.
